Welcome
Back from Guatemala.... A real success!
Visit the site of the Kokua Association, our partner in this fabulous adventure.
A big international group. Guatemalans, Frenchs, Canadians, Salvadorians, Japaneses, Americans... We made the permaculture difference!
Permaculture, a Global Solution
Becoming a "PERMACULTURALIST" or returning to "NATURE" is no longer a choice, but a necessity!
Climate change, peak oil, industrial agriculture, etc., all of this is adding up and prompting us to change our way of living in this industrialized world that is constantly pushing us to consume.
The economic recovery should be called the consumption recovery. All of our wealth is based on consuming more and more, and developing export and import markets to create wealth for a minority and a so-called bubble economy.
But at what cost?
This isn't a question of putting humanity on trial; we just need to observe and we can understand that the change is clear, undeniable and forthcoming...
If you are convinced of this reality, and you don't know how or where to start, read on.
HOW TO CHANGE? AND WHERE TO START?
Permaculture is not a doctrine, but is rather an approach that we need to develop and apply in order to re-learn how to live in the world as part of a sustainable ecosystem, where all living beings have their place on the planet without exception... and I am not speaking only of different ethnic groups, but of all life including animals, plants, and minerals.
To illustrate this world, we can imagine life on our planet as a giant puzzle where the pieces are ecosystems, all interconnected and interrelated with each other.
Permaculture is a start-up toolkit that will help you save time when you apply it. The coming changes are too complex and it's impossible to head in all directions at once. An introductory course will help.

PERMACULTURE? As seen and applied by Bernard Alonso.
From his Manuel de Permaculture (Permaculture Handbook) used in his PDC's.
Permaculture? What is it?
It's limiting to confine permaculture to a single definition as it encompasses many fields. Indeed, how can we describe a concept that mimics different ecosystems in a single design.
The ecosystems on this planet have perpetuated life for several million years, haven't they? Permaculture is nothing more than the attempt to replicate the functioning of these ecosystems by recreating them in the environment in which we live... (To read more)
Bernard's approach:
Basic human needs...
To consciously evolve, humans first need to ensure that their fundamentals needs are met.
Applying this attitude allows for the development of sustainable designs and the reconstruction of human ecosystems in harmonious interconnection with all strata of life. (To read more)
